The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, through the Secretariat Timor-Leste Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TL-EITI), together with the Multi Stakeholder Group – (composed by the Government, civil society and Extractive companies), held on October 5, 2023 a workshop in regard to dissemination of the 2020 TL-EITI report. This workshop took place in Municipality Manufahi (Betano). This activity have published in tatoli and smnewstl website Video.

The dissemination of this report is intended so that all levels of citizen need to be informed and understand about the process of implementation of the EITI in Timor-Leste, including the content of the report.

This is the third report produced by Independent Administrator, Ernst & Young Audit & Associados – SROC, SA in accordance with the EITI Standard 2019, total revenue received by government $302, there are twenty-six (26) operators (include subsidiaries) and twelve (12) subcontractors on scope that have reported for this report.

The report contain information about legal framework, The production and exports by commodity, Tax rejime, reconciliation of tax & other payments, additional information about mining sector, and also, MSG began to report Beneficial Ownership (BO).

Previous validation showed score card for Timor-Leste in component outcome & Impact (30.5) therefore In order to ensure comply with the EITI Standard 2019 (requirement 7.1) in the upcoming validation MSG have decided to carry out this dissemination in Municipality Manufahi (164 km from Dili)  only focus TL-EITI report and other issues related to the petroleum fund investment and State Budget Allocation.

9th Constitutional Government continue committed to this initiative as outline in program table 4.3. Petroleum and Mineral Resources Section 4.3.4. Development of the Southern Coastal Zone that have mentioned EITI.

Over 100 participants attended this workshop consist of Local Government, Community leaders, political parties, private sector, civil society organization, students, youth and religious (Photos)
