The Secretariat TL-EITI Office was created in July 2008, under the Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals Resources, The Secretariat TL-EITI is in charge of the implementation of decisions made by the MSWG, such as making the final TL-EITI report available, and also arrange meetings and organize workshops and seminars to raise awareness on the importance of the EITI for Timor Leste, in addition to that responsible for promoting the EITI in the public.
A National EITI Coordinator was appointed to manage the EITI Secretariat. and the day-to-day running of implementation activities for the EITI process in Timor-Leste.
