The EITI International Secretariat, Maria Gay A Ordenes, Asia Director and Anti-Corruption lead, (Speech), arrived on April 28, 2024, for two main event workshop “Post Validation” including launch TL-EITI 2021 Report and bilateral meeting with the MSG members and beyond such as Comissão Anti-Corrupção (CAC), Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais (ANM) & UNDP.

The objective of the workshop and bilateral meeting is to meet and discuss the outcome of validation of Timor-Leste (2022) consist of 3 components: stakeholder engagement (score 67,5), Transparency (score 76) & Outcome and Impact (score 30,5). Also presenting the correction action that need to be consider and improve in the upcoming validation.

His Excellence Francisco da Costa Monteiro, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources had stated the government reaffirm its commitment to implement this initiative, and looking forward EITI International plan of work and action point for next validation and also due to mining activities is categorize as extractive sector therefore will introduce it in the upcoming TL- EITI reporting process.

TL-EITI Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) consist of Government, Extractive Companies, Civil Society and Timor GAP had strived to produce this report in align with the EITI standard 2019 and currently it has launched with the witness by EITI International Secretariat.

Over 150 participants were attended the launching of 2021 TL-EITI report compost of Member of Parliament committee C, Indonesia Embassy, members of government, MSG, Academic, and CSO (Photos).
